Wedding AVP

This is my wedding anniversary gift to my husband of exactly one year, my love (and ex-bf! hehe), Sergs :) I told him, I may not have the capacity to purchase anything for him right now but because I have him in my life, I will always feel like a million dollars. :)

It's three days before our first wedding anniversary (and third anniversary as a couple!) and he had this delivered!

... today.

Dad's veins are popping out: on his arms, his face, his forehead. And yes, I'm stuck again in a damn if you do and damn if you don't set up.

I should be asleep now. I should not have started suffering from a now (thankfully) mild case of restless legs syndrome. I shouldn't be experiencing acid reflux. I'm too young.

I'm too young to deal with extreme psychological warfares with a hypertensive-diabetic kidney patient for a father. To wit:

Me: Dad kailangan kong malaman if nakakalimutan ninyo nga talaga na kumain na kayo or kung talagang may problem sa body ninyo kaya lagi kayong nagugutom. Natatandaan ninyo po ang kinain ninyo kanina?

Dad: Oo na.

Me: Anong kinain ninyo po?

Dad: Asin. Asukal.

Me: Dad naman, ano ba namang klaseng sagot yan? Anong kinain ninyo for dinner?

Dad: Ginagamit ninyo ang sagot ko laban sa akin.

Me: Dad, hindi naman namin ginagamit laban sa inyo yun. Gusto ko lang malaman para makapag-report ako sa doctor ninyo dahil di ko kayo madala sa clinic. So anong kinain ninyo nga po?

Dad: Kanin, ulam...

Me: Anong inulam ninyo po?

Dad: Ano ba naman?! Ginagamit ninyo ang sagot ko laban sa akin.

Me: Dad gusto ko lang malaman para mapagaling kayo.... Anong ulam ninyo? Yung sinasabi ninyo sa aking masarap? Tell me the truth, natatandaan ninyo po ba?

Dad: Ipis.

Me: Dad naman, ano ba namang klaseng sagot yan? Dad, kayo ang magulang di ba? Kayo ang mas matanda? Sagutin ninyo naman po ako ng maayos para malaman natin kung bakit lagi kayong gutom or kung nag-improve na talaga kayo.

Dad: Ang mga tanong ninyo, incriminating. Ginagamit ninyong laban sa akin.

Me: ...........................

Arrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Travel Dreams

It's been almost six months since my petition papers were filed and up to now we still do not know when I could finally start a normal family life with my husband. One thing's for sure though, my hopes are still high that this year wouldn't end without me being with him, my favorite travel buddy; that this year wouldn't end without us going to places together again.

2008 was our first trip together. We were in Beverly Hills and Orlando in Florida. He flew all the way from California to pick me up at my aunt's house in Beverly Hills. We then became kids once again at Disney World in Orlando.

2008-2009 were the years when he introduced me to the Bay Area's San Francisco, where I obviously have left my heart permanently. 2010 had us going to Cebu for our honeymoon. A few months after, we found ourselves in Los Angeles with his mom, sister and nephew. Hollywood was ready for us, as well as Universal Studios.

So now I wonder which places I can tick off my travel dreams list this 2011:

1. Harry Potter Theme Park, Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida

2. Lake Tahoe

Beyond gorgeous!

3. Grand Canyon

And it's (in)famous Skywalk! Fear of heights! Dear me!

4. New Orleans, Louisiana

I'm not really too keen on the haunted hotels...

But oh my gosh, food trip! Seafood Creole  -  Gumbo!

5. New York

Niagara Falls, Manhattan, Statue of Liberty, etc. etc. etc. Need I say more? ;)
